Role overview

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping both how software is built and how customers interact with digital products. At Bloxs, we want AI adoption to be intentional, ethical, and value driven. To support this ambition, we are looking for an AI Innovation Engineer within our Development team.

As our AI Innovation Engineer, you are a hands on software developer who actively builds and integrates AI capabilities into the Bloxs platform.

You help embed AI within our software architecture and contribute to making AI a natural part of how Bloxs develops and improves its product. Through experimentation, prototyping, and implementation, you translate new AI possibilities into practical improvements in our platform and development workflows.

You collaborate with both technical and nontechnical colleagues to identify where AI can add value and translate these opportunities into concrete solutions. In doing so, you support colleagues in using AI tools effectively within their daily work and share practical knowledge and best practices. You also help ensure responsible AI usage by aligning new applications with privacy, security, and quality standards.

When relevant, you share insights internally or externally about how AI is applied within Bloxs. Through your work, you help integrate AI capabilities into both our software and development practices.

Key responsibilities

• Drive structured adoption of AI within the Development team by identifying and implementing high impact, practical use cases

• Support (development) colleagues in integrating AI into daily workflows, including coding assistance, testing, documentation, and analysis

• Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies and assess their relevance and applicability for Bloxs

• Develop and share best practices, reusable patterns, and internal guidance for effective and secure AI usage

• Promote responsible AI implementation by aligning usage with privacy, security, and compliance standards

• Act as an internal point of contact for AI related questions and facilitate knowledge sharing through demos, sessions, or internal documentation

• Monitor AI developments in the broader ecosystem and translate relevant insights into actionable recommendations for the organization

• Contribute to embedding AI capabilities into our SaaS platform while maintaining high standards for architecture, quality, and performance

Must-Haves

• Professional experience as a software developer

• Hands on experience applying AI tools in development or workflow optimization

• Strong understanding of software engineering practices

• Ability to connect technical innovation to business and customer value

• Residence in the Netherlands and authorization to work here

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software environment

• Experience with AI governance, data ethics, or compliance topics

•  A2 level Dutch (or willingness to learn)
